Little by little, we are arriving in the middle of this year 2024 with even more smartphone releases. As an illustration, at the end of the first half, Google unveiled its Pixel 8a, a phone with excellent value for money. We were able to test the latter, and without too much surprise, it is one of the best smartphones of 2024. The second device that caught our attention is the Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus, excellent in the mid-range. Finally, the Realme C67 is an entry-level phone that stands out from the competition on one very specific point… Without further ado, here are our top 3 smartphones that we have tested and that we recommend to you.

The Pixel 8 series is now complete with this “a” variation. The Google Pixel 8a is a smartphone with excellent quality/price ratio. The design of the product marks a break with the manufacturer’s previous models, with a rounded design offering a superb grip. With a new 6.1-inch Oled screen, Google now offers maximum refreshing at 120 Hz. In our measurements, the panel covers a very wide color spectrum with a good peak in brightness. Like its successors, the photo part of the Google Pixel 8a is of good quality thanks to the software processing. The photos are rich in detail. The contribution of the Tensor G3 chip is felt on a daily basis since the smartphone is comfortable in all tasks. The icing on the cake is that the software part of the phone is exceptional with 7 years of Android updates. Finally, the contribution of artificial intelligence to the various functionalities allows it to offer an impeccable user experience.

Its starting price of 549 euros makes it an excellent long-term investment, and one of the best photo smartphones on the market.

Within the Redmi range and the multiple variations of this new series, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus 5G aims to be the ultimate representative of the mid-range. The most expensive smartphone in the range has a successful design with a real identity. The grip is assured and it is IP67 certified. Its 6.67-inch Amoled screen offers adaptive refreshing of up to 120 Hz, with a precise display. For performance, the MediaTek Dimensity 920 Ultra chip enables high-end performance and ensures the operation of mobile games. The autonomy allows for a day of use, but in compensation, the Note 13 Pro Plus is compatible with 120 W charging. Finally, the photo experience is complete, in particular thanks to the 200 megapixel sensor.

Overall, the Xiaomi smartphone has no real weak points… nor real strong points. It best embodies balance if you are ever hesitant about an investment. At a price of 499 euros, it is placed in the mid-range sector.

An inexpensive smartphone must stand out from the competition to shine in our tests. For the Realme C67, this involves excellent autonomy which we were able to note with satisfaction. During our ViSer protocol, the phone came out with an excellent result of 17 hours and 42 minutes. This is quite simply the best result among the smartphones tested in 2024. 33W charging takes place in 1 hour and 15 minutes. With a balanced technical sheet, the Realme smartphone offers a great user experience. Thanks to Realme UI, you can customize a lot of elements at the heart of your device. In terms of performance, without being a thunderbolt, the Snapdragon 685 chip allows you to carry out many tasks without difficulty.

Of course, if you choose this smartphone, be aware that you will have to make some concessions, particularly on the photo aspect. The Realme C67 has a public price of 219 euros, but, pleasant surprise, you can already find it for less than 150 euros.
