About a month ago, we learned that Take-Two Interactive was going to close two studios. A few days earlier, the company announced a reduction of around 5% in its payroll. Recently, an investigation by Rebekah Valentine of IGN revealed that it is the Private Division label that will close.

By planning to close Intercept Games (Kerbal Space Program 2) on June 28 and Roll7 (the OlliOlli license), Private Division is directly impacted by the restructuring plan. Additional sources suggest that the parent company plans to cut a vast majority of the workforce. This is what the investigation confirms. Take-Two intends to part ways with its independent label. This is also what would have been confirmed to employees at the end of April 2024.

In this context, Strauss Zelnick’s company would have abandoned a publishing contract with Bloober Team and another with One More Level. On the other hand, it would maintain a small team to honor three other agreements concluded, including that for the edition of No Rest for the Wicked from Moon Studios. Take-Two’s project does not change, however. The ideal objective is to successfully sell Private Division, with discussions underway. Employees point the finger at poor management of the branch. It’s about pressure and unreasonable sales targets. Note that Take-Two refuses to comment on our colleague’s investigation.
