A DiCaprio lookalike fights for Putin

Roman Burtsev became famous thanks to his resemblance to the American actor. His destiny, however, is very different.

Roman Bourtsev, 41, looks like American actor Leonardo DiCaprio. This is obvious and made him famous. But his appearances as a model and actor are over. He now fights for Russia on the front in Ukraine.

For him, everything changed with the Covid-19 pandemic, as written by Mirror. During this time, he reportedly gained so much weight that he could no longer credibly play the role of DiCaprio.

He initially got by by doing odd jobs in a market and a DIY store, but the money he earned was not enough for him. It was then that he was offered to fight for the Russian army in Ukraine.

He has received the equivalent of 18,000 francs since signing his contract with the Russian army. The conditions for military personnel are as follows: as long as he remains alive, he receives around 1800 francs per month. If he were to die, his family would be compensated to the tune of 111,000 francs.

“It was a difficult decision, I thought about it for several months. I cannot say where I am or what I am doing,” he confided about his involvement in Ukraine in an interview with the Russian magazine Novaya Gazeta.

Roman Bourtsev hoped his role as a DiCaprio lookalike would lead to fame and wealth, as well as a wife and children. But before going to war, he still lived with his parents in a state apartment in Podolsk, near Moscow.
