Successful high-end
An enlarged version of the Galaxy S24, the S24 Plus obviously takes on the characteristics of its little brother, particularly in terms of design, but with more generous dimensions. It nonetheless remains one of Samsung’s latest flagships and therefore benefits from finishes that live up to the reputation of the South Korean manufacturer. We note an evolution in terms of even more premium design with flat edges which are reminiscent of the latest iPhones. Despite its larger dimensions (158.5 x 75.9 x 7.7 mm for 196 g), the grip remains correct, although prolonged use may cause slight discomfort due to its weight.
The premium aspect is also found in its screen which is one of the strong points of the S24 Plus, with a 6.7-inch LTPO OLED panel, capable of adjusting its frequency from 1 Hz to 120 Hz to save energy. energy. QHD+ (3120 x 1440 pixels) resolution provides exceptional clarity, ideal for reading or watching videos. The maximum brightness of 2,600 nits promises perfect visibility, even in direct sunlight, making it a pleasant device to use in all conditions.
A smartphone that holds up
If Samsung preferred an Exynos 2400 chip rather than a Snapdragon, the Galaxy S24 Plus holds the boat perfectly. CPU benchmarks deliver solid results. However, in real use, particularly in gaming, it may show signs of overheating and drops in framerate. Despite these few limitations, for daily tasks, it remains fluid and powerful, especially with its 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of basic storage.
In terms of autonomy, with its 4,900 mAh battery, the Galaxy S24 Plus is robust. In our test, it lasted up to 14 hours 40 minutes of continuous use, even outperforming the S24 Ultra. In daily use, it proves reliable, especially for classic activities such as web browsing or sending messages. However, more intensive uses, such as gaming, can reduce battery life, especially with the Always-On functionality enabled.
