The MRC of Beauharnois-Salaberry is launching a new campaign entitled There is food for thought which aims to guide local citizens in the management of their residual materials.

In the coming months, many tips will be released to help people recover, adopt the right actions with their bins or simply prevent waste from entering their homes by reducing it at the source.

« The way we treat our waste is changing and the information shared with the population is also adapting to new realities. It seemed important to us to send a clear, fun and accessible message so that citizens adopt the right actions for our planet.», Explains Miguel Lemieux, prefect of the MRC and elected representative member of the Regional Committee for Residual Materials and Environment Management.

The campaign will be embodied by Réflixa new eco-responsible ally who will offer tips for Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Repair and Recover (the 5Rs) as well as Reflex (the 6th R) which is the ability to put others into practice on a daily basis. His adventures will be broadcast on his Facebook page [https://www.facebook.com/leReflix] and his Instagram account [https://www.instagram.com/lereflix/].

The campaign messages will first target households in the seven municipalities of the MRC, through different publications, posters or activities. From 2025, the region’s industries, businesses and institutions will then be invited to practice the 6Rs in turn. At home, at work, at school or in the park, every action counts to reduce landfill!
