A little before the announcement of her departure, another emblematic face of the RTBF news had left the ship: Fabienne Vande Meerssche. Since last August, the 65-year-old journalist has taken her pension but asked to do so discreetly, without the channel communicating on the subject.
Joining RTBF in 1979, Fabienne Vande Meersche initially presented Generation 80a pop/rock show in which she hosted the biggest stars. The journalist, who was also the face of Visa for the world, Trails of the world or even The Image Carouselthen became one of the flagship presenters of the 19 h 30 of La Une, a position she held from 1996 to 2003 and where she dealt with serious current issues such as the Dutroux affair and the September 11 attacks. After the news, she also presented, for a season, the news magazine Current or the show The offices of power.
In recent years, listeners have been able to find her on La Première. In Friday Deciderswhere it brought together two great personalities who had something in common or some affinities, in The Midi Forumwhere she gave listeners and Internet users a voice on a current event, and from 2017 in The Scoutsa show she continued to present until the end of last season.
