You may never be able to skate like Jack, Luke or Quinn Hughes, but starting today, you’ll be closer than ever.

EA Sports NHL 25 has been on sale since Friday morning. The Hughes brothers appear on the different covers of the game (Quinn on the Canadian version, Jack on the American version and all three on the deluxe version).

Thanks to Ice-Q technology, the game is closer to reality than ever. This season, you can enjoy “Next Gen Controlled Vision”, “Best AI Teammates” and “Reactive Actions”.

“Hockey is no longer just played north/south or east/west, it’s now about small spaces too. The ability to maneuver in tight spaces has even become the trademark of some players,” said the senior creative director of the EA NHL series, Mike Inglehart. “When you enter the offensive zone and activate ‘controlled vision’, your player will target the net. When you wander into the offensive zone, the net will remain the target. »

It’s not just user-controlled players who are better. AI teammates play more of the NHL team style of play.

“We wanted to be more consistent with AI player positioning,” Inglehart explained. Up until NHL 25, our AI had difficulty consistently positioning itself in the right spots for the user… We took all of our strategies, created more consistency and now we can move the puck better in the zone. But that doesn’t mean it’s robotic. We also wanted the AI to be able to continue improvising. »

“Reactive Actions” also improve AI players’ offensive and defensive plays. It’s the finishing touch to a game that’s more realistic than its predecessors.

“Those subtleties weren’t there before. There will be surprising moments where players will say ”Wow, that was good!”. And visually, the game is just phenomenal,” Inglehart enthused.
