On the night of October 3 to 4, the Krys optician and the Picardie Verte pharmacy were allegedly victims of an attempted burglary using a hammer and grinder.
It was around 3 a.m., Friday October 4, when a group of criminals tried to break into the Krys store in Grandvilliers.
Axel Delplancq, owner of the Picardie Verte pharmacy, next door to the optician, says:
“They were not gentle and attacked the entrance to the optician, then a window further away before attacking our staff entrance door. Given the marks, they must have used a hammer and a grinder. But fortunately they did not manage to break in. They also cut the fence next to the Kandy car park.”

It was this Friday morning, arriving at 8 a.m., that the merchants noticed the damage from the attempted burglary.
“We filed a complaint. The police came this morning. We changed our barrel, and we’ll take care of the glass next. I think Krys is going to have to change his door“, assures the pharmacist.
The buildings are equipped with video surveillance cameras. According to the pharmacist, it was Krys and not the pharmacy that was targeted.
“They attacked the facade facing the road without even trying to hide. Then, strangely, they tried to sabotage the windows with a grinder…”

This is not a first for the Picardie Verte pharmacy which had already had its door broken and had to pay €4,500 to replace it.
Despite the inconvenience, the two stores remained open this Friday, October 4. The opticians did not wish to speak.
