Over the past 30 years, the erect penis has grown more and this is not really good news

The size of the erect penis has increased significantly over the past 30 years, reports a new study. What may be seen as good news for some might not really be good news.

As part of the study, the results of which were published in the World Journal of Men’s Health, Researchers studied data from 55,761 penises from around the world, between 1942 and 2021.

Researchers found that the average length of the erect phallus had increased drastically in recent decades “in several regions of the world and in all age groups.”

The length of the penis at attention has reportedly increased by 24% over the past 29 years, from 12.3cm to 15.2cm in the space of three decades.

However, the researchers found no change in the length of the penis at rest.

A worrying trend

The study was conducted after other changes related to men’s reproductive health were observed in recent years, such as a decrease in sperm count.

According to the lead author of the research, Michael Eisenberg, the increase in erect penis size could be attributable to environmental problems.

“There could be several factors at play, such as exposure to chemicals, such as pesticides or hygiene products, that interact with our hormonal systems.”

Exposure to different chemicals would also be one of the causes of early puberty in adolescents, which can affect the development of their genitals, specifies the researcher.

“The increase occurred over a relatively short period of time. If we see such a rapid change, it means something powerful is happening in our body,” predicts Eisenberg.

Further studies on the issue will need to be carried out.
