The leader in connected rings has just responded to the Galaxy Ring by unveiling its Oura Ring 4.
As expected, Oura will not have to wait long to respond to the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Ring. The Finnish firm, both the originator and market leader of connected rings, announced this Thursday its new benchmark health ring, the Oura Ring 4.
This new connected ring logically takes over from the Oura Ring 3, which we had the opportunity to test at the end of last year. It therefore offers improvements not only in terms of design, autonomy or data precision.

A more rounded design and more sizes
On the design side, exit the two formats, Horizon and Heritage. The Oura Ring 4 is only available in a perfectly round version, without the flat part of the Heritage version. It is also available in many more sizes than the previous version, ranging from size 4 to 15, while the Oura Ring 3 was limited to sizes 6 to 13. Finally, the Oura Ring 4 benefits from a coating entirely in titanium, both outside and inside, where the Oura Ring 3 offered an interior surface in epoxy resin.
Oura has also revised the format of the different sensors. If the ring still allows measurement of heart rate, heart rate variability, movements, temperature and blood oxygen level, these sensors are more discreet. Exit the interior growths of the Oura Ring 3, here the sensors are positioned on the surface of the ring, without protruding.
Oura also indicates that it has revised its algorithms to better analyze erroneous measurements and optimize them using its Smart Sensing algorithm.
Finally, in terms of autonomy, Oura announces up to 8 days of wear for its Oura Ring 4, one day more than the Oura Ring 3.
Still, we expected more new features for the Oura Ring 4. Some rumors predicted the arrival of an NFC payment system or biometric validation. Unfortunately, this is not the case and Oura’s new ring is once again content to offer health measures, like the Samsung Galaxy Ring, ultimately.
Oura Ring 4 price and availability
The Oura Ring 4 is already available. It is available from 399 euros in many shades and sizes. Furthermore, remember that consultation of data from Oura rings is subject to a subscription amounting to 6 euros per month or 70 euros per year.
