Senegalese investment banker targeted for pocketing 100 billion CFA

An influential Senegalese investment banker, whose identity has not been revealed, has reportedly decided to take refuge in Dubai. This man, mentioned by a minister without being named, would have received more than 100 billion CFA francs in commissions linked to a spontaneous offer project concerning road infrastructure in Senegal, according to information reported by the magazine ConfidentielDakar.

The case is currently under examination by the Government, which plans to initiate legal proceedings. Still according to available information, the banker has made Dubai his main base and does not plan to return to Dakar any time soon.

Although he recently traveled to New York, his return to the Senegalese capital seems ruled out for the moment. The Senegalese financial prosecutor’s office plans to open a judicial investigation into this matter and to interview a former minister involved, having signed the contract in question.

It should also be noted that this banker had already achieved a major coup within the framework of intermediation for the construction of the Diamniadio Stadium.
