Big change coming for all Android smartphone users: you’ll have to get used to it

Google is currently testing a new interface for calls on Android smartphones. The habits of many users risk being turned upside down…

A page should soon be turned in the history of Android. As the Android Authority site reveals, Google is currently testing a new interface for phone calls with a number of users. The biggest change concerns the call taking system.

Currently, on most Android smartphones, the user must swipe up to answer a call or down to hang up. A system that is not necessarily easy to memorize and is relatively unappreciated by users. It is no coincidence that several smartphone manufacturers have chosen to develop their own calling interface for their customers. But all this should soon be history since Google has developed a new, much clearer interface with two buttons: one which allows you to take the call, the other to hang up. An interface that is similar to that found on the iPhone.

Google has not yet formalized the modification of the interface but the first feedback is very positive and we would frankly be surprised if the function does not end up being deployed. Traditionally, new features on Android, WhatsApp, Facebook or Instagram are tested on a small panel of users before being deployed to everyone, a few weeks or months later.
