It is one of the most anticipated French films of the year. For its director: Gilles Lellouche who delighted us with Le Grand bain. For its impressive cast: Adèle Exarchopoulos, François Civil, Alain Chabat, Jean-Pascal Zadi, Raphael Quenard… For its budget: 37.5 million euros.

So, is it good or not? The first version presented at where the film was in competition gave us the impression of a mix of genres: teenage romance and raw violence softened with musical comedy.

It was going in all directions. Gilles Lellouche heard the criticism and modified his film. If the length does not change, it is more homogeneous with still two distinct parts.

This film is a declaration of love for adolescence and cinema. Gilles Lellouche takes advantage of his budget to multiply references of the genre. A roller coaster that goes from Scorsese to Jacques Demy, it’s a little too much but ultimately rather exciting and sincere.

Big budget, big cast: Gilles Lellouche drives a heavy goods vehicle at the speed of a racing car. And managed to avoid leaving the road
