Dragon Age The Veilguard details its graphics modes on Xbox, PS5 and PS5 Pro | Xbox

Alongside the reveal of the PC specs for Dragon Age: The Veilguard, BioWare also discussed the graphics modes available on consoles.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard will have two graphics modes on consoles

While the PC version seems to have benefited from very appreciable special care, console players should not be left aside since these are two graphic modes which will be available on Xbox and PS5.

In particular, we will be entitled to a loyalty mode as well as a performance mode, targeting 30 and 60 FPS respectively, whether on PS5 or Xbox Series X, but also on Xbox Series S as confirmed by Michael Gamble, Executive Producer at BioWare.

Xbox Series X

  • Performance mode at 60 FPS
  • Fidelity mode at 30 FPS

Xbox Series S

  • Performance mode at 60 FPS
  • Fidelity mode at 30 FPS

PS5

  • Performance mode at 60 FPS
  • Fidelity mode at 30 FPS

The best console version on PS5 Pro?

Unfortunately for Xbox players, the best console version of the title should logically be the PS5 Pro version, since several graphical improvements will be available on Sony’s new console.

The ambient occlusion option by Ray Tracing available only in the fidelity mode of the Xbox and PS5 versions will be integrated into the performance mode on PS5 Pro, and the title will benefit from better resolution and improved graphics in its different modes, as well as of the PSSR.

We can’t wait to see how Dragon Age: The Veilguard leverages the power of PS5 Pro for gamers. Whether you enjoy deep progression, strategic combat, or diving into the story of Dragon Age, you’ll immediately notice the improved experience with PS5 Pro.

Both the game’s Fidelity and Performance modes will benefit from hardware improvements, including higher resolution in Fidelity 30 FPS and Performance 60 FPS modes. Additionally, visual settings will be improved in Fidelity 30 FPS and Performance 60 FPS modes.

The BioWare team is proud of how players will be immersed in the beautiful world of Thedas, with improved image quality thanks to Sony’s new AI-powered upscaler, PSSR. We enabled Raytraced Ambient Occlusion (RTAO) in Performance Mode at 60 FPS, which was previously only available on the base PlayStation 5 with Fidelity Mode at 30 FPS.

Remember, Dragon Age: The Veilguard will be available on October 31, 2024 on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC. Pre-orders are still open and below you will find the best offers for the different editions.
