Regina Halmich will step into the boxing ring against Stefan Raab on September 14th. After around ten years, the successful entertainer and producer is celebrating his big TV comeback. It has not yet been announced whether Raab will remain an exception to the rule and will appear on television. In any case, he already duelled with the former professional boxer in 2001 and 2007.

Back then, he lost both fights, and in one of them he even had his nose broken. In a conversation with RTL, Halmich said: “I do believe that we will meet the fittest Stefan Raab there has ever been.” A few days before the big event, she gave her final interview to the broadcaster and explained how she views the 57-year-old.

RTL has now published the last conversation with Regina Halmich. She has been preparing intensively for the fight for several months, it was said. With regard to what she expects in a fight against Stefan Raab, the 47-year-old explained: “I think it is always important to prepare for the most difficult thing.” And she continued:

“I have it in my head that Stefan will be super prepared, that he will use all kinds of tricks, so I’m prepared. I’m highly concentrated and I won’t let him out of my sight for a second.”

In addition, Halmich made it clear: “I’m neither scared nor afraid. But you always go into the ring with a certain amount of respect.” When fists hit you, it’s never a walk in the park. It can always happen that a direct hit gets through. “In this respect, I think it’s important that people respect this sport,” she said.

It could be a bitter experience for Stefan Raab

When asked what Raab should be afraid of, she said: «Me (laughs)! Well, of course I will try to make his life as difficult as possible and doesn’t want him to have fun, that’s for sure!” She still expects Raab to be well trained. “We want to go six rounds together and to be in the ring for six rounds is something you just can’t do without really hard training,” said the 46-time boxing world champion.

She hoped at least that her nose would not be broken, “because I actually had it fixed after my career, and it was broken three times,” she explained. At the end, Halmich issued another challenge to Raab: “In the first fight I broke Stefan’s nose and so we are excited to see what happens this time.”
