Now it’s all about his daughter
Peter Maffay will no longer do any major tours – for his daughter.

For Peter Maffay, everything now revolves around his little daughter Anouk. She also shows interest in music.
In July of this year, Peter Maffay, 75, gave the last concert of his last tour in Leipzig. The main reason for leaving the stage is his family, especially his five-year-old daughter Anouk and his wife Hendrikje, 37.
In an interview with the “Bild” newspaper, the musician emphasized his plan not to go on a stadium tour again: “Anouk starts school next year, then I would miss it. I don’t have that much time anymore to miss important things.” The parents want to spend a lot of free time with their little one before they start school in a year. Even after that, Anouk’s daily routine should determine the day: “We will then follow her rhythm, not the other way around.”
Anouk had already upset her father at his last concert. She stood in front of the stage with a sign that said, “Dad, I love you.” Maffay to “Bild”: “I couldn’t sing anymore. And so I took the banner and hid behind it so that no one could see what was happening to me. Namely, that tears came to my eyes.”
Maffay’s daughter is already showing musical ambitions
While Maffay says goodbye to the stage, Anouk seems to be developing his first ambitions for music. The musician says that she got the hang of his songs after listening to them two or three times. She also now wants a keyboard instrument. “She’s getting that now, and of course lessons too.” Maffay’s 21-year-old son Yaris has already followed in his father’s footsteps. Papa Maffay: “I think it’s important to open the door to music for a child.”
Maffay likes having his children around him, also because they keep him busy and young “sometimes against his own will.” “It’s an energy that flows to me that I’m trying to bring into my future life. I definitely want to see my daughter’s graduation ball!”
