Netflix surprises fans: no one expected this sequel

Season 4 of the Netflix series “Outer Banks” comes later than expected, but follows on from previous seasons. So it is that the Pogues, who are the focus of the series, go on a treasure hunt again.

The reason for the delayed start of season 4 is the now ended Hollywood strike, which prevented filming in the summer of 2023. But the wait is over, as Netflix has now announced the start of the fourth season of Outer Banks.

Outer Banks: Start of Season 4 Part 1

Season 1 of Outer Banks was released in 2020. Two more seasons followed in 2021 and 2023. The fourth season was expected much sooner, but there has been silence about it for 1.5 years. Netflix has now announced the start of the new season. Accordingly, the Pogues’ adventure in the Outer Banks continues on October 10, 2024.

Like previous seasons, season 4 will have a total of 10 episodes. Unlike the previous seasons, however, these will not be published as a complete package. Netflix also announced that only part 1 of season 4 with five episodes will be released on October 10th.

Part 2 and thus the last five episodes of the series will therefore be shared on another date. According to Netflix, this is scheduled for November 7th. You also have access to other content on Netflix, such as the documentary series Mr. McMahon.

In the trailer for Season 4 of Outer Banks, the group’s adventures enter the next round. After they were able to land a large treasure of gold, their problems initially seem to be gone. But when the Pogues get into financial trouble, they have to go on another dangerous treasure hunt.

Outer Banks: Plot

The story of Outer Banks revolves around the group consisting of teenagers John B. Routledge, Kiara Kie Carrera, Pope Heyward and JJ Maybank. They all live in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. It is a chain of islands off the coast of North Carolina in the USA.

The teenagers live together as outsiders and try to find their leader’s father. They are all poor and have to work hard for their money, which is why they identify as Pogues. In the first episode of the series, viewers learn from John that a pogue is also a type of fish that is of low value.

In the first three seasons, the friends have proven that they can rise above anything as a team. In their greatest adventure, the friends uncovered 500-year-old secrets about the Royal Merchant, Denmark Tanny and El Dorado.

18 months later they are still being honored for it. Season 4 of Outer Banks shows what exactly happened in the meantime. To do this, time will be rewound in the new episodes. The Pogues’ new haven, Poguelandia 2.0, and their new businesses are introduced to viewers.

At the end of season 3, viewers found out that the gang was at a party. There they meet the mysterious Wes Gennette, who is in possession of a captain’s log from 1718.

This is said to have belonged to the pirate legend Edward Teach and contains the secret location of a great treasure. The treasure hunt can begin for the gang, but various misfortunes lead to dangerous adventures. The Pogues not only have to find treasure, but also themselves.

Outer Banks: Cast

The film stars Chase Stokes as John B., Madelyn Cline as Sarah, Madison Bailey as Kiara, Jonathan Daviss as Pope, Rudy Pankow as JJ and Carlacia Grant as Cleo. There is also an addition to the cast. The new names are actors J. Anthony Crane (Dead Ringers), Pollyanna McIntosh (The Walking Dead) and Brianna Brown (EastSiders).
