Real Madrid’s Spanish defender Dani Carvajal, taken out on a stretcher on Saturday during the La Liga match against Villarreal, suffers from a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee and two other serious injuries requiring surgery, the Madrid club announced.
The Merengue club specifies in a press release that Carvajal, its indestructible vice-captain, will be operated on in the coming days, without estimating the duration of his absence, even if the Spanish player confirmed on his Instagram account that he will have to stay several months away from the field .
“I’m already looking forward to starting my recovery and coming back like a beast. Thank you very much for your messages“, Carvajal also wrote in his publications.

The 32-year-old full-back left in tears on a stretcher on Saturday in added time of the La Liga match against Villarreal after a clash with his teammate in the selection Yeremy Pino (90th + 6), causing staff and supporters to fear a serious injury to the knee.
Fundamental in the coronation of La Roja at the Euro this summer and in Real’s historic season last year, notably scoring in the Champions League final against Dortmund, Carvajal should therefore be absent at least until the end of the season, and miss the next club and selection deadlines.
