In 2025, the FC Nantes no longer loses but settles for draws. 15th and last non-relegation, the Loire-Atlantique club brought home a new point from Saint-Étienne (1-1) during the 18th day of Ligue 1. After the match and an equalizer conceded at the end of the match, the coach Antoine Kombouare regretted the lack of ambition of his team in the recovery.

« Victory? Yes, we could have gotten it, but given the second half, no. Yes, because I always say what I think. J-, we just suffered. We said that we had to defend well, but also bring out the balls cleanly. At the start of the second half, things were still going well, but if you look at the last 20 minutes, we kept falling back, we were under their pressure. And a lot of things can happen: a foul in the box, a set piece… Defending is one thing, but what I didn't like is that every time we recovered the ball, we just cleared. We could have put the game down, put our foot on the ball, and tried to build the first restarts. It was important, especially against a team that puts a lot of density and presses high. If we had brought out the balls better, especially on the first restarts, we could have exploited the spaces they left. »
