Kevin De Bruyne celebrated his 400th match with Manchester City this weekend. The Skyblues logically put him in the spotlight.
“If I expected to play 400 matches for the same club? Um…no, but Manchester City is like home, everyone knows that.” As usual, Kevin De Bruyne preferred to speak with his feet rather than behind a microphone to celebrate his 400th appearance for the Cityzens.
KDB thus delivered an assist against West Ham, his 172nd since his arrival ten years ago. The Red Devil also scored 104 goals. He was therefore decisive on 276 occasions, not too bad for this total of 400 matches.
In the history of the club
The preferred targets of his caviars are multiple: Sergio Agüero and Gabriel Jesus each scored 22 goals on assists from their genius teammate. Raheem Sterling and Erling Haaland follow closely behind them with 20 goals thanks to the services of KDB.
Aside from the Etihad Stadium, he has played the most matches at Wembley (9, highlighting all finals played). Of collective trophies, De Bruyne won a whopping 18 in Manchester.
With his 400 matches played, Kevin De Bruyne is the fifteenth player with the most matches for the Cityzens to his credit. He will probably not surpass Alan Oakes, record holder in this area with 680 matches. Especially since the last few weeks have not been really positive in terms of an extension of his contract.
