Enough to lead the transfer window: these three Pro League teams urgently need… Belgians to stay within the rules! – Latest transfers

In less than a week, the winter transfer window will open in Belgium. As a reminder, Pro League teams need a certain number of Belgians on each match sheet… and some are getting into difficulties.

Royal Antwerp filed an appeal some time ago against the principle of requiring that a certain number of Belgians be included on a match sheet. To date, there must be six of them, among the 18 names written on the sheet.

There was a time when Mouscron did not have six Belgians on its match sheet and had to be content with registering only 16 players. Today, it is not impossible that several teams in the championship find themselves in this situation.

Ghent, Kortrijk and Westerlo urgently need… Belgians

La Gantoise, in particular, would do well to recruit a Belgian. Only Roef and Delorge play regularly, while the playing time of Samoise, Kums and Gerkens varies. To have six Belgians on the scoresheet, the Buffalos often call up one or the other young player.

However, those previously mentioned may not all be in core A next season. Which means that La Gantoise, for whom Belgian players only represent 26% of playing time, will have to recruit locally in the coming weeks.

The observation is the same for Westerlo and Kortrijk, which only have nine Belgians in their core. The Latest News writes that these three teams would have planned to recruit “black-yellow-red” during the transfer window, and that would not hurt them.
