The FIS snow check is positive: the Bernese resort will be able to host a men’s giant and slalom in a week. The organizers hope to still be able to inject the Chuenisbärgli.

Everything is ready for a memorable ski festival in Adelboden in a week’s time. The Bernese Oberland resort got the green light for its World Cup events, following the usual FIS snow check on Thursday. Adelboden is scheduled to host a men’s giant and slalom on the Chuenisbärgli on January 11-12.

In the past, the resort has often had to struggle with too mild temperatures or a lack of snow. The current images, however, show a beautiful white cover even at the village level. A good sign for Swiss technicians, for whom these events are always a high point of the season and who regularly achieve podiums there. Marco Odermatt could also this year equal Ingemar Stenmark, the only skier to have won the giant four consecutive years.

Co-director of the organization, Stefan von Känel is optimistic: “The track is in good condition. We will now put the finishing touches on the preparation before the race weekend and hope that the weather conditions will allow us to use the injection bar. »
