The Oregon Ducks had a perfect 13-0 season this season, but they hit their first slump at the worst possible time.

The Ohio State Buckeyes scored 34 straight points to start the game, en route to a dominating 41-21 victory over the Ducks on Wednesday night.

The Buckeyes thus took their revenge, after a 32-31 loss against the Ducks earlier this season, one of their only two defeats. Ohio State will now join the Texas Longhorns in the College Playoff semifinals in the Cotton Bowl.

Buckeyes quarterback Will Howard led the offense with three touchdown passes, to Jeremiah Smith twice and to Emeka Egbuka. Howard amassed 319 yards of aerial gains.

Howard’s three touchdown passes were thrown for distances of 42, 43 and 45 yards.

Running back TreVeyon Henderson rushed for 94 yards and reached the end zone twice. His longest run came on a 66-yard touchdown run.

Traeshon Holden scored two receiving touchdowns and Noah Whittington added a touchdown.

The Cotton Bowl will take place on January 10.
