Manchester City are reportedly on the verge of reaching a full deal for Egyptian international striker Omar Marmoush, who is the delight of Eintracht Frankfurt.

Since the departure of Julian Alvarez, Manchester City has had a problem: how to get Erling Haaland to breathe? The problem could well be resolved in the coming days. According to the Daily Mailthe English club is actively negotiating with Eintracht Frankfurt for Egyptian international center forward Omar Marmoush (25 years old).

The English tabloid claims that Manchester City is moving towards a full agreement. The German club is however reluctant to part with its top scorer (18 goals in 24 matches) in the middle of the season. But the English champion could well achieve his goals thanks to his financial arguments: there is talk of a transfer worth 60 million euros. Which would be considerable added value for Eintracht, given that the player arrived… free in 2023.

Haaland (almost) always started

Omar Marmoush, who also has Canadian nationality, would already agree to try his luck in the Premier League. He has been playing in Germany since 2017. Coming from Egypt, he joined Wolfsburg, where his professional career began.

“We have to recruit players,” Pep Guardiola said recently, facing an unprecedented series of poor results at the helm of Manchester City. “We have difficulties especially at the back and in the middle,” he added, without placing emphasis on the center forward position.

Erling Haaland, who has no designated replacement, has started every Premier League and Champions League match this season. He was only left out twice: in the League Cup against Watford and Tottenham. For these two meetings, Phil Foden was aligned up front.
