Candidate for the presidency of the Boxing Federation, Estelle Mossely, who continues her campaign despite the invalidation of her list, believes that her sport “needs opposition”. Mossely, 32, heads the only opposition list to the outgoing presidency of Dominique Nato. But her candidacy was rejected in mid-November by the FFB’s Electoral Operations Monitoring Commission (CSOE), on the grounds that a candidate on the list had an invalid license.

“I hope that the federation will understand that everyone within boxing needs that there be an opposition, that there be a dialogue and that there be exchanges and debates, because boxing still has a certain number of problems »she declared to theAgence-France-Presse Tuesday on the sidelines of a meeting in Saint-Ouen with various actors of the noble art.
“People feel quite neglected, devalued in their actions. So discussion is necessary to move forward and progress”he said. The Rio Olympic champion filed an appeal with the French Olympic Committee (CNOSF). The body must issue an opinion soon, but it is only advisory, Mossely said.
“Above all, I want it to be done in a democratic way and for us to understand that it is necessary, in the interests of democracy, to give everyone a voice”she added.
“By invalidating my list, I was still deprived of certain means of communication, since my program is not present on the website of the French Boxing Federation. It was not communicated to the clubs since the call to vote was sent on November 27. And of course, in this call to vote there is only one list, that of Dominique Nato. It’s very problematic to get to this point”she regretted.
Despite the invalidation of her list, the boxer continues her campaign for the election which will take place on December 14. “I have the feeling that there is a desire to reduce my campaign time. But I continue to campaign, I continue to interact with those on the ground, to bring people together”she explained.
