“The international break did me a lot of good,” assures Kylian Mbappé

Not summoned to the French team for the second time in two months, Real Madrid star striker Kylian Mbappé broke the silence and assured Sunday that the international break spent training in the Spanish capital had made him “a lot of good”.

“It did me a lot of good to train here, with the young players from Castilla (Real’s training center, Editor’s note) who have a lot of qualities. It felt good to run with them, to train. And I saw it today, I felt good physically and I am ready to help the team”declared Mbappé on Real Madrid after the 3-0 victory in Leganés, where he found the net again.

“I think I had a good match. I’m starting to find the right rhythm with my teammates, this evening in a different position than the other matches. But like I said on my first day here, I can play every position. Maybe in the next match I will play elsewhere, but I am ready to help the team and give the best of myself.”added the French striker, starting on the left, his preferred position, for the first time since his arrival this summer.

“This is the story of my career. I play on the right, on the left, in the center or with two central attackers. It doesn’t matter to me. I just want to help the team and score goals.”he explained.

A very good relationship with Vinicius

Asked about his relationship with the Brazilian Vinicius Junior, who offered him the first goal of the game on Sunday, he said “have a very good relationship with him”.

“Vini Jr. and I get along well. He’s a great player. As I always said, the best players are here at Real Madrid and we are determined to win many matches and titles together.”he assured.

In difficulty at the sporting level with Real, Mbappé was not selected last week – for the second time in a row – by the Blues coach Didier Deschamps, believing that “it was better that way”.

Questioned several times during the truce about the reasons for this decision, Deschamps mentioned “fragile psychological state” of his captain, who is going through a bad patch on and off the field (failed Euro, financial dispute with PSG, accusations of rape made by the Swedish press).
