Olympique Lyonnais are now under threat of relegation to Ligue 2 at the end of the season if John Textor does not change anything. The boss of the DNCG, however, sends a new message to Lyon.
A few hours before the match that Pierre Sage's team is playing this Saturday in Reims (9 p.m.), OL supporters are wondering what sauce their team will be served with at the end of the season. For a little over a week, we have known that the Rhone club will be demoted to Ligue 2 if the club's American owner does not provide answers to the DNCG's questions. This Saturday, in The TeamJean-Marck Mickeler, the big boss of the financial policeman of French Football, responds directly to John Textor's attacks, and explains why the DNCG had no other solution than to take this brutal decision. Twisting the neck of a desire to harm Olympique Lyonnais, Mickeler believes above all that Textor has obviously not understood what the other clubs have understood.
OL provided no guarantee to the DNCG
During his appearance before the DNCG, John Textor was content with promises to bring a lot of money into the coffers of Eagle Football Group, where the DNCG wanted to have guarantees, not being able to be satisfied with the verbal arguments of the American businessman. “ The DNCG listened perfectly, heard and understood what John Textor explained to it (…) But the role of the DNCG is to be skeptical of any operation that has not yet been carried out. This is what we explained to the club. The DNCG only wants one thing, and that is for John Textor to carry out these important operations and for us to be able to not confirm this demotion at the next hearing. We have been talking with him for many months. These operations were postponed and were not pre-financed in risk as we request for other clubs. The DNCG requires bank guarantees or cash to cover part of the risks. Other clubs do it, there is no exceptional decision for OL », warns the boss of the National Directorate of Management Control, so that we do not let people believe that all this is a personal matter.
Jean-Marck Mickeler also specifies that as soon as the DNCG has these guarantees from Olympique Lyonnais or that John Textor has carried out the operations he has been talking about for months, then this threat of demotion will be immediately lifted, just like the ban recruitment. What also leaves hope for a rapid resolution of this story as long as John Textor abides by the rules and does not try to blame everything on the French authorities.
