Dacia Sandero: a saga since 2007…

The Dacia Sandero is a saga that began in 2007 with a version closely derived from the first Logan of the name with a shortened wheelbase and a planed rear overhang. From 2009, the Sandero Stepway adventurer variant with its slightly higher body on legs came as reinforcement. The Sandero is a global model which obviously came to life in Romania in the historic Pitesti factory but also on the Renault industrial site in Curitiba in Brazil, in Envigado in Colombia, in Moscow, Tehran, Casablanca and Pretoria. An industrial strategy closer to customers in order to lower transport costs.

It remained in the Dacia catalog until 2012, but resisted under the Renault badge until 2019.

The second version of the Dacia Sandero therefore takes over in 2012 with a more rewarding and more qualitative presentation. The range of engines is full of new features with the 1.0 Sce 75 hp units and the 0.9 TCe 90 hp and 1.0 TCe 100 hp units, complementing the well-known 1.2 16V notably under the hoods of the restyled Renault Twingo 1 and the Clio 2.

And a Dacia specialty, the 1.0 TCe Eco-G 100 engine, which runs on either petrol or LPG, is entering the fray.

A change of the Dacia Sandero grille in 2022

The current third version of the Dacia Sandero appears in 2020 and benefits from the CMF-B technical platform of the Renault Clio 5. Regarding production, the Moroccan industrial sites in Tangier and Casablanca only handle the standard versions known as the Dacia Sandero Streetway, while the parent plant in Pitesti, Romania, produces the entire range (Streetway + Stepway). In 2022, the Sandero, like the rest of the Dacia range, is undergoing a slight facelift with the new “DC” logo.

Dacia Sandero 4: more Clio than ever!

In the future, the fourth version of the Dacia Sandero, which will share its technical base with the future Renault Clio 6, will be clearly dissociated from the Stepway.. The latter will become a full-fledged model in the range, taking on the role of the small urban SUV slotted between the Spring and the Duster. An alter-ego of the Renault Captur that is obviously more accessible in terms of price.

Our illustrator has thought out the lines of the future Dacia Sandero 4 which will feature a pure and rewarding formal register like the latest version of the Dacia Duster while sharing the technical elements as much as possible with the Clio 6. This is why the Sandero 4 will benefit from rear door handles hidden in the quarter panels. On board the furniture will also be shared except for a few details, as will probably be the air vents, as was the case for the second generation Dacia Duster and Renault Duster.
