Launch of the “Marrakech Open” international tournament
The Al Alam Maâna Association, in partnership with the Royal Tennis Club of Marrakech, the National Council for Human Rights, and the Royal Moroccan Federation of Sports for People with Disabilities are organizing an international wheelchair tennis tournament , from July 5 to 7, 2024.

This event is part of the planned activities of the “SIR (Awareness, Inclusion, Success): towards an inclusive future of disabled sports in Morocco” project.

The aim of this project is to promote the inclusion of people with disabilities through sport, culminating in the international wheelchair tennis tournament which allows athletes to earn points to qualify for the Paralympic Games in Paris 2024.

The tournament will bring together athletes from different countries, including Morocco, France, Spain, Germany, Switzerland, Pakistan, Poland, United Kingdom, Colombia,
Italy, Turkey and Greece, thus reinforcing the international and inclusive character of this competition.

On the program for this event and the launch of the international tournament, various activities will be organized, such as interactive matches to raise awareness of disabled sports and exhibition stands to inform residents and associations active in the field of disability.

A wheelchair tennis exhibition will also be held on Jamaâ Lafna Square on July 6, 2024 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., allowing the public to discover this sport.

To ensure the media and social success of this event, officials invite media representatives to attend and contribute to maximizing the visibility and impact of these initiatives at a press conference to be held at the Royal Tennis Club of Marrakech on July 4, 2024 at 6:00 p.m.
