Late in the evening, after winning the 23rd Brennus Shield, Stade Toulousain publicly announced the extension of Peato Mauvaka’s contract. Initially contractually bound until 2026, the hooker seals his future in red and black until 2029, as evidenced by the publication of the Haute-Garonne club, with as an illustration a photo of Mauvaka and the president Didier Lacroix both with sunglasses screwed on and a cigar in their mouths, shaking hands above the coveted Shield.
This announcement comes to nip it in the bud the wishes of various clubs having come to the intelligence. And above all, it strengthens the position of the club which locks in a major player of the French circuit, whose CV is rare (27 years old; 34 selections, 9 tries) and whose track record is evocative: French champion (2019, 2021, 2023, 2024), European champion (2021, 2024), but also winner of the grand slam (2022).
