Having reached the end of his contract in Russia, Moroccan international Yahya Attiat-Allah is reportedly getting closer to a return to Africa.

Arrived at FK Sochi in February after four years at
Wydad Casablanca, Attiat-Allah should not extend with the Russian team, even though his contract expired on June 30. It must be said that the idea of playing in the second division next season, following the club’s relegation, is not likely to excite the left side of the Atlas Lions (22 caps).

According to information from the Egyptian press, the native of Safi has a touch of Egypt for what could constitute his return to the continent. Indeed, the 29-year-old is said to be in discussions with giant Al Ahly, reigning national champion and two-time consecutive winner of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Champions League.

Discussions on track

Coach Marcel Koller would have checked his name to compensate for the departure of Tunisian Ali Maaloul, who has also reached the end of his contract. The same source indicates that the talks are on track. There are only a few details to be settled for a total agreement between the two parties. In addition to discovering a new championship, Attiat-Allah could play in the first edition of the
Club World Cup to 32 teams in which the Red Devils will participate next year. He would also find his compatriot Reda Slim, who arrived last summer from FAR Rabat.

This season, the left-hander has played a total of 34 matches, more than half of which were with Wydad (23 appearances) for 5 goals scored and 6 assists.
