Ligue 2: Sochaux striker Kévin Zohi signs a three-year contract at Stade Lavallois

Announced in start of the week by France Bleu Mayenne and other media, Stade Lavallois formalized this Friday, June 28, the arrival of striker Kévin Zohi. The former Sochalien has signed up for a period of three years in the same way as the first Laval recruit, Moïse Adilehou.

Kévin Zohi was already on the shelves of Stade Lavallois last summer, “but this was not done for administrative reasons” reveals Tango coach, Olivier Frapolli. Aged 27, Kévin Zohi was born in Ivory Coast to an Ivorian father and a Malian mother. He was trained at RC Strasbourg where he then played in Ligue 1 before leaving to play in Portugal for two seasons. Last season, Zohi played at Sochaux under the orders of Mayennais Oswald Tanchot. The striker has played 30 matches and scored eight goals in the National Championship. He has therefore never played in Ligue 2, a division that he will discover with Stade Lavallois. “It ticks all the boxes” said the Mayenne coach, Olivier Frapolli “and what’s more, he’s a bubbly person“. If he can play in all offensive positions, Kévin Zohi admits a certain preference for the left winger position, “that’s where i started” smiled the attacker.

Bertrand Baillou reunites with an old acquaintance

It was not initially planned to change goalkeeping coach. But Anthony Corre could not refuse an opportunity to return to work and live in Brittany (he will sign with Guingamp). Immediately, Olivier Frapolli thought of Bertrand Baillou, goalkeeping coach at Orléans with whom he worked for six seasons. This former goalkeeper in CFA 2 (5th division) signed a three-year contract with Stade Lavallois.

21 players at the restart

Training is scheduled to resume on Monday, July 1st at Gandonnières. There will be 21 players at the resumption, including four young players. Goalkeeper number 1 Mamadou in Sama will be missing (he will be granted an extra week of vacation). The defender Edson Seidou and the keeper Maxime Oboe will be preserved. Olivier Frapolli announced that a loan solution was desired for two players: the midfielder William Benard and the attacker Noah Mupemba. But for the moment, no post has been successful. The attacker Jordan Tell receives an exit voucher.
