For its twenty-first edition, which took place this Sunday, June 30, the Mont Blanc Marathon, a race counting towards the elite Golden Trail World Series circuit, which took place in the town of Chamonix, a French commune located in the Haute-Savoie department, in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, saw the victories of the Moroccan Elhousine Elazzaoui and the Swiss Judith Wyder.

The flagship event of the weekend, the marathon, left this Sunday at 6:45 a.m. for the women and 7:15 a.m. for the men, at Place du Triangle de l’Amitié in Chamonix, for the 4th stage of the Golden Trail Series.

This historic and legendary race is one of the 9 global races of the Golden Trail World Series, bringing together the best athletes on the trail planet. Alongside them, 2,300 participants, drawn at random from the 17,000 applications, lined up on the starting line ready to swallow the 2,540 m of D+.

Among the women, Judith Wyder therefore wins, in 4h11’12”. She is ahead of the Romanian Madalina Florea, 2nd in 4h13’42” and the Chinese Miao Yao, 3rd in 4h18’30”.

On the men’s side, after two retirements and a 4th place, Elhousine Elazzaoui wins, in 3h30’00”. He precedes the Swiss Rémi Bonnet, who takes second place with a time of 3h30’56” and Roberto Delorenzi , who completes the podium by crossing the finish line in 3h33’07”.

The Golden Trail Series will travel to Switzerland for Sierre-Zinal, the 5th round of the season. See you on August 10th.
