Standard: La Famille des Rouches announces that the money from the sale of subscriptions will be released

This Thursday, the Liège business court issued a negative response to Bruno Venanzi, the former president of Standard, who demanded the appointment of a provisional administrator to manage the Liège club, mired in financial problems. A positive decision for Standard and which is delighted by La Famille des Rouches (FDR), the non-profit organization which oversees the Liège supporters’ clubs.

“There will be no provisional administrator because the judge considers that ‘there is no management error’ at Standard de Liège. We take note of this decision and we are pleased to hear that despite our problems for months, the management of the club is considered good,” declared the FDR in a press release published on Thursday evening, before citing several advances in recent days in the management of the crisis at Standard: “After 1 month of waiting, the data room is finally open and potential buyers can consult it […] On June 18, the license was confirmed for 1 month, this is also a ‘positive’ signal. This is a signal that the investor clearly does not want to ‘kill’ our club by continuing to inject money into it. We hope that they will continue like this until the club takes over. The transfer ban has also been lifted, this should allow us to strengthen ourselves to avoid pressure on this team which for the moment seems very fragile to us.

Former Rouche Denis Dragus discusses the situation at Standard: “It hurts me to see the club in this state”

The non-profit association of clubs continues by announcing that after these advances, it seems important “to make a gesture and release the money from subscriptions now”. Supporters’ clubs have until now blocked the money collected via the subscription campaign in their accounts because they feared that this money would be used for payments that the American owner 777 owes to certain creditors. “We want through this positive and constructive act to show that we are behind our club in order to help it with its next financial deadlines (payment of staff salaries, transfers, etc.). Our objective is that the administrators of the club and the office which manages the sale know that our wish remains a rapid sale of the club while respecting our values”, explained the FDR.

“We ask all supporters to resume their subscriptions to help our team as we know how to do so well. This season will certainly be very complicated until the buyer is in place. Our role as 12th man will still be once essential! We need everyone!”, concluded the non-profit organization rouche.
