The MX Club Saumurois de Montreuil-Bellay, created in 2020, is the only motocross club affiliated with the French Motorcycle Federation (FFM) in the department of Maine-et-Loire. Its main objective is to promote motor sports such as motocross, quad and sidecar. The association brings together both amateur enthusiasts and experienced pilots. During the year, the club organizes various events and offers clothing and goodies in the colors of the association for sale.
Saturday, November 9, the club held its general meeting, attracting nearly 260 participants, proof of the growing enthusiasm and support of the community.
The club sees even bigger
To carry out its activities and events, the association can rely on the FFM, communities, partners and volunteers. In four years, the club has gone from 49 to 128 members, illustrating its dynamics and rapid development.
Currently, the club distributes licenses to pilots, but has the ambition to see a major project come to fruition: the construction of an FFM approved field in Montreuil-Bellay. This project aims to provide a secure and certified space for the practice of motocross. According to Cédric Durand, president of the MX Club Saumurois de Montreuil-Bellay, it is a project that meets societal, sporting, economic and environmental needs
.
The club’s long-term goal is to create a flight school that will introduce new enthusiasts while developing seasoned pilots. The planned land will be located at the Champ de Liveau recycling center.
