We haven’t seen Cayden Primeau in front of the Canadian’s net since last Monday.

The American was taken out of the game against the Buffalo Sabers because he was not able to stop a beach ball, and it was Monty who got the start in the CH’s last three games.

And let’s say that it would have been impossible (or almost) to ask for better from the Quebecer.

In his last three games, Monty has been on fire.

His figures are exceptional:

  • Loss against the Wild: 25 saves on 27 shots, an efficiency percentage of .926 and a goals against average of 2.06
  • Victory against the Blue Jackets: 25 saves on 26 shots, an efficiency percentage of .962 and a goals against average of 1.00
  • Victory against the Oilers: 30 saves on 30 shots (shutout), an efficiency rate of 1.000 and a goals against average of 0.00

Monty notably allowed the CH to whitewash the Oilers last night and that does not go unnoticed.

The goaltender was named one of the NHL Goalies of the Week:

I’m happy for Monty.

Every time I go to a practice in Brossard, he’s one of those who works super hard because he wants to improve.

He is often on the ice before the others to work on his faults. And what I like is that he doesn’t hesitate to practice what goes less well in his game:

Samuel Montembeault has been a bit inconsistent since the start of the season, but things have settled down recently.

He has three wins in his last four outings and last night he looked like a goaltender who can be in net for Team Canada at the 4 Nations Tournament.

That’s good, because Kyle Dubas (one of the leaders of Team Canada) was there to spy on him…

Prolongation

As for Monty…

The Canadian’s next game will only be played on Saturday at the Bell Centre. That said, it is Montembeault who should be in front of the CH net because he is the one who deserves to play at the moment.

Cayden Primeau must wait his turn in my eyes.
