Mehdi Benatia, OM’s football advisor, vetoed the departure of one of the club’s center backs.

Like every summer, OM needs liquidity to be able to carry out its transfer window. Before buying, it is therefore imperative to sell. Many players were thus granted an exit voucher. However, there are also some who have been instructed not to move.

Mehdi Benatia, Pablo Longoria’s arm, for example, wants to keep Bamo Meité at all costs. The latter only played 11 matches as a starter last season and 1113 minutes in total, but he is clearly one of the elements on which management is counting for the future.

The Franco-Moroccan leader would have told the young Ivorian that there was no question of him moving. He also reassured him by letting him know that he will definitely have more opportunities to show himself from the upcoming campaign. That he just had to be patient. Obviously, the decision is approved by the new coach, Roberto De Zerbi.

Unlike Meité, other center backs in the Olympian squad have the possibility of leaving in the event of an interesting offer. This is the case of the three players who are most used in this sector, namely Leonardo Balerdi, Samuel Gigot and Chancel Mbemba.
