Transfer window: PSG ready to break their transfer record for Lamine Yamal

A rare talent who shines at the Euro at just 16 years old, Spanish winger Lamine Yamal is once again in PSG’s sights by the Catalan press. With Paris reportedly ready to sign a record transfer for the young player, there is little chance of achieving their goals.

In just one season with the FC Barcelona first team, young winger Lamine Yamal has confirmed his incredible potential and is already establishing himself as one of the greatest talents in world football. At only 16 years old, he has already started the Euro with the Spanish team and shines on his right flank in almost every match. A Barcelona gem that attracts many clubs, including PSG.

As Barça president Joan Laporta had assured in March, a club had offered €200 million at the time to get Lamine Yamal and the club in question was Paris, which was not enough to convince FCB. But the Catalan press of the day assures that PSG would be decided to offer even more to get Lamine Yamal. According to Mundo Deportivo, it is even an offer of €250 million that Paris would be ready to make to get Yamal, the biggest transfer in history ahead of Neymar’s €222 million in 2017.

But despite this huge and very attractive amount for a club that is still in financial difficulty, no offer from PSG or any other club will be accepted by Barça for its nugget. The Catalans managed to extend the player until 2026, with an automatic extension until 2031 as soon as he is of age, and this contract signed last October contains a release clause of one billion euros. An amount that is obviously unattainable. Seven years later, no new transfer of the century like Neymar in sight.

If PSG’s interest in Lamine Yamal seems very real, and logical given the player’s immense qualities, the path appears impossible to complete and should therefore not lead to a transfer. The information to remember, however, is more on the side of the sum that the capital club seems ready to invest, therefore meaning that PSG has money to strengthen its team this summer in the transfer window.
