Club: PSG justifies Mbappé’s salary deductions

On the sidelines of an investigation into the relationship between Kylian Mbappé and PSG, the Parisian club has for the first time justified the non-payment of the final salaries of the captain of the Blues, who is demanding nearly €100 million from PSG.

On June 21, in the heart of France/Netherlands, L’Equipe revealed that Kylian Mbappé had given PSG formal notice and was demanding around €100 million from them. A sum which would correspond to unpaid bonuses, as well as several months of unpaid salary (April, May and June). On the sidelines of an investigation by the media Blast into the toxic relationship between Mbappé and the club, PSG for the first time justified its decision to withhold the latest salaries from the future Real Madrid player.

“Kylian Mbappé spent seven incredibly fruitful years at Paris Saint-Germain. The club supported him like no other player in its history (and perhaps in the history of football) by investing hundreds of millions of euros.first recalls PSG in a response sent to Blast ahead of the broadcast of the survey.

For PSG, Mbappé was “committed to protecting the club for the future upon his departure”

PSG then returns to a promise made by Mbappé to the club: “The player pledged to protect the club for the future upon his departure, firstly giving assurances that he would not leave on a ‘free transfer’ and then, if his departure was ultimately a free transfer, agreeing not to leave “for free” (in other words, waiving certain financial rights), which is what some recent deductions relate to. »

Mbappé having not kept his promise according to PSG, the club therefore considers that it is within its rights and assures that everything will soon be settled with the Mbappé clan: “The player made these commitments publicly. Now that the season is over, details are being discussed and will be finalized shortly. »
