Holder of a Master’s degree in sports journalism, I fell in love with tennis since childhood and have always loved reading the great stories of this sport. Today, I want to tell them about them, take full advantage of my passion and be as close as possible to the aces of the circuit.

On June 14, PSG formalized a transfer worth nearly 20 million euros for Matvey Safonov, goalkeeper of FK Krasnodar. The 25-year-old Russian international had never left his country before since he has played for the same club since his debut. Obviously, he was a priority target of Parisian leaders for several months since he recently spoke about the way in which his transfer took place.

Determined to enter the fight to become the starting goalkeeper at PSGMatvey Safonov will be present in the squad next season. The Russian delighted his leaders FK Krasnodar, of which it is truly one of the centerpieces. It is now up to him to prove his worth in Paris, he who was obviously very coveted.

“They were very serious about the transfer”

New recruit of PSG, Matvey Safonov would have been in the club’s sights for months already as he confided in an interview with the Russian media Nobel. “When I learned about PSG? Sergey Galitsky (President of Krasnodar) contacted me during our winter internship. I was sitting in my hotel room when he called me and told me that PSG were ready to buy me. They were very serious about the transfer. I always told everyone that I would move to Europe as soon as I got an offer…” he declares.

Safonov commits until 2029

Not necessarily at the forefront since he has always played in Russia, Matvey Safonov is a little surprise of the transfer window since the PSG would have spent nearly 20 million euros to recruit him. The goalkeeper with 14 international selections will wear the Parisian jersey until 2029.
