Four district clubs including a D3 still in the running
Four district level clubs are still present in this Coupe de France. They who started their epic in the first round managed to reach the 7th round. Already extraordinary feats, even if none of these formations scored big.
The little thumb of the 7th round is the Saint-Philbert-Reorthe-JA club (D3) which brings together the municipalities of Saint-Philbert-du-Pont-Charrault, Réorthe and La Jaudonnière. The Vendéens, who took out SO Cholet (R3) on penalties, will face SA Merignacais (R1) in Luçon. Falling from Olympique Lyon Sud, resident of R2, (2-1) in the 6th round, AS Guereins Genouilleux (D2) will try to achieve a new feat against Mâcon (N3). The Guérinois will be able to benefit a second time from the facilities of Villefranche-Beaujolais, a National level club.
Located in Maine-et-Loire, FC Fief Geste (D2) is no stranger to exploits. They successively released US Cugand Bernardiere (D2), RS Ardelay (D1), AS Clermont Créans (R3), US Berthevin (R3), Mareuil SC (R1) and Saint-André (R3). This weekend, Le Fief will be pitted against another R1 club, US Monnaie. Finally, a few kilometers from Lens, the RC Labourse team (D1) which held AS Étaples (R2) in check on penalties in the 6th round will have a lot to do against FC Bobigny 93, currently second in the group C in National 2.
