Axel Witsel was missing during the quarter-hour training session open to the press. Jan Vertonghen and Arthur Theate were there. Thomas Meunier continues his revalidation in Belgium.

Witsel, injured in the groin, is still working separately. The central defender of Atlético Madrid came out at half-time last Saturday against Luxembourg, as a precaution according to coach Domenico Tedesco. Since then he has always followed a differentiated program and it is now clear that he will not be ready for the first match.

Jan Vertonghen (also groin injury) and Arthur Theate (ankle injury) completed all team training on Saturday, according to various media. This training took place behind closed doors. Until then, they had always started an individual program after the warm-up.

Vertonghen played his last match on May 5, when he was injured during the clash against Union Saint-Gilloise. Theate appeared for the last time with Rennes a week later. Their presence on Monday is therefore uncertain.

If both players were to withdraw, there would only be four defenders available: Timothy Castagne, Wout Faes, Zeno Debast and Maxim De Cuyper.

Thomas Meunier (thigh injury) is currently working on his recovery in Belgium and hopes to still be able to reach Germany. If the Trabzonspor full-back were to withdraw, a replacement could still be called up until Sunday. Tedesco had already indicated that he did not intend to do so.

After the match against Slovakia, the Devils will meet Romania on June 22 and Ukraine four days later.
