After seven months of work under the responsibility of Marc Tomasin, architect, the La Ramondère multisports field in Lombez opened to the public.

The municipal multi-sports field project in La Ramondère has been eagerly awaited by young people and various associations for several years. After a study to create a city park carried out in 2019 and after consultation with schools and sports associations, a synthetic multi-sports field measuring 54 x 35m was selected. For Mayor Jean-Pierre Cot, it is “a source of pride for the municipal team. This construction is the result of a real desire on the part of the municipality to offer young people quality equipment. It is open to all and has free access outside the time slots used by associations.” Chantal Véga, community life assistant, prepares a display of the schedule.

The location, between the town center and Ramondère, close to the school and the new nursery, now offers a new modern, attractive area, in a landscaped environment as it has been imagined since the start of the mandate: “This multi-sport field is open to Lombéziens, as well as football, hockey and other clubs, Savès schools and of course all sportspeople. This play area is yours, it is a space for meeting places and leisure activities. It is up to each of you to preserve it and learn to live there together. This convivial space is a place for exchanges between children but also between adults. It is essential to respect it and maintain it as it is.”

On the financing side, the operation, amounting to 466,940 euros excluding tax, benefited from subsidies from the State (171,600 euros), the National Sports Agency (21,450 euros), the region (64,000 euros), the department (34,000 euros) and Leader Europe (50,000 euros), with a remainder payable by the municipality of 123,741 euros.

The mayor thanked the members of the commission, the associations, the schools, the financial partners for their contribution to the construction of the project and the elected officials who actively participated in all the site meetings.
