This Friday, Domenico Tedesco revealed the list of players who will face Italy and Israel in the Nations League.
A list in which we can note the presence of Joaquin Seys. The young defender, excellent since the start of the season with Club Brugge, is celebrating his first selection with the Devils. Tedesco also decided to select Seys because the latter is capable of playing left side as well as right side.
El Ouadhi could become Red Devil
In recent days, Zakaria El Ouadhi was also mentioned but the Genk defender was ultimately not called up. The one who defended the colors of Morocco during the Paris Olympic Games can still play with the Red Devils because he has not yet played a single minute with the Moroccan national team.
At a press conference, Tedesco announced that he was keeping an eye on the Genk right-back: “Yes, we look at his situation, as we do with many players. We often receive conflicting messages about who can play with us or not. So we have to be sure that the players we are following are selectable. Recently we had the case with Mile Svilar. We looked to see if he could play for Belgium and we finally learned that he could. was not possible.”
Before concluding: “Regarding El Ouadhi, we are finding out. In any case, I would not have called him for this gathering even if he was selectable.”
He decided to stay in Genk
As a reminder, El Ouadhi could have left Genk last summer, but he ultimately decided to stay in Belgium. He was notably followed by Benfica. This season, he has already played 11 matches (1 goal).
