Just like Kevin De Bruyne, the captain of the Blues will miss his country’s next gathering. But then why? Didier Deschamps explains.
Already absent during the last international break, Kylian Mbappé will also miss the French team’s last two matches in the Nations League.
The French are already almost certain of being qualified for the next round, but this absence raises questions, because the captain of the Blues plays for Real Madrid. He notably started in Madrid’s defeat against AC Milan on Tuesday.
“I had discussions with him and I made this decision, it’s better that way (…) Kylian wanted to come, it’s not because of extra-sporting problems,” explains Didier Deschamps at a press conference, cited by The Team.
“I understand that this will occupy the media sphere, it is a very short gathering, I am not going to go into justifications,” concludes the coach, remaining quite discreet about the exact reasons for his absence.
