This edition is scheduled for Saturday September 14.
Created in September 2022, the EAT association (Espalion apéro trail) brings together more than 80 epicurean athletes of all ages. It is in this state of mind that the first edition of the Espalion aperitif trail was organized last September. And it is with the same state of mind that a public meeting recently took place at the Alayrac entertainment room to launch the preparation of the second edition.
Led by Clément Fabre, it made it possible to reveal the main points in front of many old and new volunteers. The APEs from the city’s public and private schools were present to take their part in the organization of the “Bambino trail”, the big new thing this year.
A “Bambino trail”
Open to children aged 6 and over, a free “Bambino trail” will be organized in partnership with the APE. Liquid supplies will be offered by the organizer. It will be complemented by a cake sale managed by the APEs and for their benefit. Each participant will receive a medal and the best in each age category (from 2012 to 2009) will reach the podium. Each age will have a suitable race between 400 m and 5 km.
At the same time, the 8 km hike will take participants to Calmont Castle. Departure at 1:30 p.m. from the fairgrounds. Participation €5 or €9 with the visit to the castle.
Finally, the anticipated aperitif trail will take a heritage circuit (Persian church, Calmont-d’Olt castle) which will offer the most beautiful views of Espalion (from Vermus, from Calmont and from Alayrac) passing through mythical trails (GR 65 and greenway of the old railway with its bridges and tunnels). This route will be punctuated with surprise activities. Please note that registrations (17 km solo or 2-person relay) are already open and limited to 400 bibs. It is therefore prudent not to delay too much.
From 8 p.m., the Francis-Poulenc center will host an aperitif concert with a beer bar hosted by the well-known musical group “Les Duganels” and the local band “Les souvenirs de Nestor”. Meals available (stuffed, sausages fried in beef fat, cheese, pie) €12.
