The LS visiting the CHUV: “We can only learn from these children”

A few weeks ago, four Lausanne-Sport players visited children hospitalized at the CHUV. A look back at an afternoon full of emotions.

This Wednesday in April, the sky is gray and we fear another downpour. But, on the pediatric floor of the CHUV, four rays of sunshine came to warm hearts. Antoine Bernede, Donat Rrudhani, Karlo Letica and Trae Coyle, midfielders, goalkeeper and striker respectively for Lausanne-Sport, visit the hospitalized children.

A day made possible thanks to the Planètes Enfants Malades Foundation. For more than 20 years, this structure has sought to improve the daily lives of these children. Whether through music, stories or adapted physical activities, the foundation tries to create beautiful memories. “Often, when children talk about their stay in hospital, they talk about the incredible things they were able to do and leave aside the difficult moments or the care,” explains Paola Möhl Pignatelli, director of the Planètes Enfants Malades Foundation. .

Before starting the visit, a short briefing is necessary. First to thank the players for their presence. But also to reassure them. “Children have more or less visible pathologies, so the visit can be emotionally taxing,” warns Paola Möhl Pignatelli. “If you feel the need, don’t hesitate to leave the room for a few moments, they won’t blame you. ” The visit can now begin.
