It’s recently official: Jesper Fredberg has been fired from his position as sporting director at RSC Anderlecht.
A piece of news which has already caused a lot of ink to be spilled and which therefore raises a question, given the vagueness of the situation: who is really pulling the strings at Anderlecht?
Elder of the house, Johan Boskamp knows the backstage of the Brussels club well and affirms it: Marc Coucke still clearly has a say.
“He (Coucke) must give his agreement. Besides, Wouter (Vandenhaute) was non-executive chairman, right? So who makes the decisions? He always hides behind other figures. He’s been playing this game for over six years,” Boskamp said in The Importance of Limburg.
Boskamp was also a little doubtful about the choice of the successor of Jesper Fredberg, Olivier Renard. According to him, the fact that he has a past at Standard will not help anything.
“That means he will have to work harder to convince the fans. But if they see that he is giving his best and putting the club first, they will eventually accept him. J I am deeply convinced of this.”
