A match under high tension.
The French team is due to host Israel on November 14 at the Stade de France, a meeting organized in the context of war in the Middle East for more than a year now. A meeting which some in France would like to see canceled in view of the actions of the Israeli state. « I want this match not to have lieu »said France Insoumise MP Louis Boyard, questioned this Friday morning on the subject during an appearance on Sud Radio.
The MP relies in particular on Article 4 of FIFA, according to which “universal human rights must be respected” to justify its position, while other countries have been banned from participating in international competitions. A petition, supported by LFI, was launched to request the cancellation of the match.
The Minister of the Interior wants to “adapt the security system”
At the same time, the Minister of the Interior Bruno Retailleau was also questioned about the conditions for holding this meeting. “We will, of course, adapt the security system because there will be risks. [Le match] will take place »he told BFMTV, without ruling out the hypothesis of a reduced gauge for the public.
