Formula 1 | Pérez deplores having been ‘blocked’ in the peloton at the start of the race

Sergio Pérez finished seventh in the United States Grand Prix after starting in ninth position. The Red Bull driver explains that he was unable to overtake the cars in front of him at the start of the race, in this case a Haas and an Alpine .

“Unfortunately, I lost a little time by being stuck behind the middle of the pack. And I lost time with the people who were on hard tires. It seemed like the best strategy to start on hard tires, and I lost a place to Russell at the end” deplores the Mexican.

Although he has not had all the developments and he hopes for progress in the near future, Pérez draws a disappointing assessment of this weekend: “We just lacked rhythm throughout the weekend. The weekend wasn’t complicated, so we just have work to do.”

“First of all, the morphs seem effective at high speed. But I didn’t have the full morphs. I don’t know how much having the full package would have brought us back into the fight.”
